Information Management Systems
Welcome to the IMS Homepage! We are the Information Management Systems (IMS) team for the Engineering Projects in Community Service (EPICS) course. We are responsible for creating and maintaining the MyEPICS web application which is used by both students and administrators to manage their EPICS needs.
About the Project
The MyEPICS system is an online web tool used by both students and faculty in the EPICS course. The faculty are the main users of the system and have the most features available to them. They use the tool to help them administrate and manage the class and it is our goal to try and make their lives as easy and streamlined as possible. The students primarily use this tool to keep track of attendance, view information about their team members, sign up for skill sessions and do peer evaluations. The students don’t use the site nearly as often as the faculty, but they’re features are equally as important.
MyEPICS is an online web tool built off a custom PHP framework created by a previous leader of the IMS team. The main technologies we use are PHP, MySQL, XML and XSLT.
